In the news
The Broadband Bob report (www.catv.org/bbb-report)
had this in the 9/13/99 edition of the highly recommended weekly
newsletter:
"Rolf Launches Cable-Modems.Org
Rolf Ostergaard has launched a fine new web site featuring
his detailed study of cable modem technology, a list of industry
books and net resources, a photo gallery of DOCSIS certified cable
modems, an archive of articles about the standards battle in Europe
as well as other good stuff."
The cable modem tutorial had actually been on-line since the
start of 1998, but the cable-modems.org domain name and the layout
was new.
And again in the 3/8/2002 edition:
"Cable-Modems.Org Publishes Article on Uncapping
Rolf V. Ostergaard of Cable-Modems.Org has recently published
an article on uncapping that reveals methods used by subscribers to
expand cable modem service bandwidth caps and methods used by cable
ISPs to prevent the practices."
